Dexter, can you provide a scenario where this would be useful? There is no way to limit the number of favorites that your clients can select, which means that if downloading favorites is enabled independently of the individual image download permissions, your clients could still download all of the images in the gallery. They would simply mark all of the images as a favorite, and then download their favorites.

If a client can browse a gallery and download images instantly without creating favorites that would override the need of creating a favorites list.

Favorite lists are important because if gives some insight into who are downloading images. For example I regularly provide images marked as favorites to the yearbook publication staffs of the eight school districts where is shoot as appreciation of allowing access to the sidelines and courtsides of their athletic events. Favorite lists provides the loose who, where and when data whereas the bulk number of free images downloaded only shows quantity.

I have farmed out the management of my social media sites and websites, these managers rely on the ability to quickly browse and download individual images and have no need of creating favorites. The number of images they download isn't of concern.

The number of images marked as favorites is not an issue. Clients given the permission to download their own favorites can and should be allowed to download the full gallery of images if needed. And if the only option is for those downloads is to flow through the favorites process there would be some stats associated with those downloads.

I'm primarily a sports photographer and upload 100's of images at a time. The page that I use the most is the Manage Category Photos - category list - image details view.

To save any changes requires scrolling to the bottom of the page to click the Update Image Settings button
