Better support for expired events and 'lost' shopping carts

GS: Hi quick question. I have some events who have expired (>270 days) and still have customers with shopping carts. If I hover over I can see how many items are in the cart but when i click on the cart to see the items, it says there are no items found in cart. I'd like to see what they had selected and follow up with them on those images.
Is there anyway I can still see what they'd added to their cart?

i see the email addrs and the cart symbol for some of the visitors
E: Interesting, I am as well and I can see the content in the cart when I click the icon. Would you mind trying another browser for me?
GS: I'm on FF which is what I've always used (successfully) in the past
when i click on it - it opens a window and says no items in cart

E: Ah okay, I apologize for the miscommunication I was on a different event. So what it looks like is that the event doesn't have any images in it so the system doesn't know what it is looking for to display in the cart info.
GS: Can't I still see the item / image names?
Or if i re-upload the images it will work?
E: So the way the system works is that once the images have been removed it clears the info from the shopping cart. I'm sorry but unfortunately there isn't a way to get that cart info back.
GS: That's very unfortunate to not at least have the item / image names available. What is the policy on removing images? I have some galleries from 12 and 13 that have images still but these ones expired a couple of months ago and where removed?
I'd like an notification when the images are also going to be removed
or continue to provide the smaller images for the expired galleries

or to keep the images for at least 1+ years in the event I want to extend them or make them 'feature' events to reactivate
E: The policy is that 60 days after the expiration of an event the images are deleted so naturally, the cart info would be as well. It is a little peculiar that those old events haven't had their images removed yet. It looks like most of them did but not all so I'd say that at least those are still up. If you would like you can purchase out High Resolution Subscription. One of the perks is that there are no event expiration's.
GS: Yes, I know there are other options but that hasn't been a problem for me much in the past. I think 60 days is too aggressive and I'll keep that in mind in the future. I self fulfill orders so High Res isn't really applicable for my situation unfortunately.
E: I apologize that it is recently being a problem for you. If there is anything else we can do we would be more than happy to do so. You might consider filling out a suggestion for an increase on the 60 day period.
GS: Thanks for your time and explaination. I'll definitely consider that - and a notification of expiration of images - and being able to retrieve the substance of the carts.
E: Definitely add those all in there, I know the devs look at and consider every suggestion daily.

Thank you for your suggestion! We have now added a “View deleted items” checkbox on the pop-up for viewing the cart contents. This will allow you to view previously selected added items, regardless of whether the images have been removed from the events or not. This option works for all previous events/carts as well as any new events and carts.
