Add Password for All Categories
when uploading various categories, we have to quickly password protect each folder while we are sorting through them and before we are ready to release them to the client - as a result, we have to do this 7-8 separate times to each folder or category, which is very tedius and time consuming over several projects.
Last year, you added a "delete all passwords" option, which is wonderful - it would be awesome if you would also add the same feature to "apply password to all categories" to eliminate these extra steps and make life so much easier! ;)
From the description of the suggestion, it sounds like this problem can be avoided through the use of event passwords. You can add an event password through the event details screen. Once the event has been uploaded and arranged, simply remove the event password and you’re good to go.

Hi, Adam
I don't think you are understanding correctly. We do set an event password, but we also allow our clients to pre-register for the event ahead of time using that password to build up maximum emails while we are editing, and then like to invite them all when ready. If we set a password that no one knows while we are doing this, then we are not able to have people pre-registered. I'd be glad to chat with you further about this via phone.
our blog posts actually have our instaproof events pre-loaded into them so that clients can register well ahead of time for the event - check out one of our wedding blog posts if you like (mattramosphotography.com) - there is no easier way around this process than adding a lock all categories option. If the concept was irrelivant, then you would not have added a "delete all passwords" option last year, which was also my suggestion.

It sounds like what you are after is the event-level password. With the event password you just add a password to the event, and BOOM! you're done. :) As soon as the images have been arranged, simply remove the event password and your clients are free to browse and purchase the images at their leisure.

Sure, I'm glad to further explain. When uploading an event such as a wedding to instaproofs, we break up the wedding and photos into sections to make it easy for the client to have their photos organized and easy to find (plus, it's not so overwhelming this way). an example of our different categories or folders we upload would be:
1 - Pre-Wedding, 2 - Ceremony, 3 - Bride & Groom, 4 - Portraits, 5 - Reception General, 6 Reception Special Events, 7 - Cake, 8 Photobooth
As you can see this can be tedious, but is needed to keep things organized for the client. Once we ftp, we then have to process the images and then sort/organize them within instaproofs by ranking the photos 4&5's so that they show the way we want for each section. Because we do not want the client to see any of the images until this has all been done and is actually ready for them to see, we have to password each of these folders one by one before we can do the sort process. Again, it's very tedious and time consuming for a studio as large as ours with as many events as we post.
Last year, you were kind enough to add the "remove all passwords" so that when it's time to post the event, we can remove all of these passwords quickly and easily, but the other half of making it super easy is to also compliment that feature, but adding a "add password for all" so that it doesn't have to be done one by one. I hope this helps to clarify a little more. Thank you.

Can you explain this a little bit more? We are having trouble understanding why you need to change the passwords 7-8 times for each category. Also, if you are wanting the same password for each of the categories, might the event-level password work better for you?
