Wedding Registry Fee
There should not be a fee for family and friends purchasing Gift Cards for their loved-ones. It's a convenience to the customer, taking 12% from $500.00, leaves us with $440.00 and we're forking over the rest to balance the $500.00. Please eliminate the fee.

Thanks for the suggestion, Mike. The gift certificates purchased through the storefront go towards online print credit for the people that they are being purchased for. Since there is no fee taken when the user *uses* the online print credit (through a discount code), the fees are taken at the time that the gift certificate is purchased instead.
For example, if your client purchased $500 in print credit for a loved one, they would be charged $500, we would take $60 as our fee, and you would receive $440. When the $500 discount code is used by your client on your storefront, there is no additional fee to use that. So the total fee to purchase $500 in credit AND to use the $500 in credit is that initial $60 fee.
In your suggestion you mentioned that you would be required to "fork over" the rest of the money (above the $440). Can you explain that a little bit? Are you giving your client a check for the amount that the gift certificate was purchased for? If so, that is not what the certificate products are for. Since the certificates are for online print credit, the initial fee simply covers the $xxx in purchasing power that your client is going to have when they decide to use the discount code on your storefront.
