Other city/state options
I would like to have the option to input something else as my default State. I live in Stockholm (city), which is part of Stockholm (state), in Sweden. As a wedding photographer, it would be so much more useful to have my storefront events displaying as "Stockholm, Sweden" (city, country) or even "Chuch ABC, Stockholm" (location, city). Right now my events show as "Stockholm, Stockholm". I am manually changing my event "city" for the location name, but it doesn't work when I shoot in a place like Gothenburg, for example (state Västra Götaland and I had to google to find it out). In this situation, it would be infinitely better to have "City, Country" displaying instead of "City, Obscure State Name".
The states/provinces are probably important in countries like USA, Canada and Brazil, but in Europe they are completely irrelevant. Therefore, I suggest we can change the default State field into something more meaningful. Keep the State there for those who need it, but please allow us to choose Country as an option or make it a custom field so we can input whatever we want/need.
Thanks for the suggestion! A new option labeled `Display “City, Country” Instead of “City, State”` has been added to the preferences page in the `Storefront Homepage` settings.

Maira, we decided that since we previously said that we would do it this week, we needed to do it. The new preference has been added and I have enabled it for your account. Thanks for your patience!

Maira, I'm sorry about this, but it looks like we are going to need to push this back another week. Next week! We'll make it happen no matter what!

Thank you so much Adam! This is just another example of your mind-blowing customer support!
I am not a developer, and have no idea how many pages and databases need to be changed, but it would be amazing to be able to choose the Country name on that drop-down list! I'll have "Stockholm, Sweden" or "Recife, Brazil" in the future (instead of Stockholm, Stockholm and Recife, Pernambuco as it is now!). I have tried leaving it blank, but to create an event I need to pick a 'state' from that list. I also tried to hide that thing with CSS but couldn't find a way. I know your development team has other priorities, and I would prefer to solve this myself, but unfortunately I couldn't find a way.
I really appreciate your answer and your effort in solving this problem. Although no one else has complained about this or voted on it, I am sure it will be appreciated by all destination photographers out there! At least I can assure you, you will have my ETERNAL GRATITUDE :-D

Hello, Maira. When you select a "state" you are actually also selecting the country by association. The suggestion that you have made is to display the selected country in place of the selected state on your storefront, and that is something that can be done but hasn't been done yet since we haven't heard this same request from others. However, since this suggestion has been "Under Review" for 2 years now (!) I think it's time for it to be done despite the lack of requests from others. I will move this up the stack and we will work on it sometime within the next two weeks. Although this request may not seem complicated on your end, the coding that goes on behind the scenes is not so basic. This change will require a change to our database, and changes to at least half a dozen behind-the-scene pages. We'll get it done for you, but I don't want you to think it is a trivial task.

Hello? Will something ever be done about this? All I need is the ability to choose the Country name in that list of locations. That is currently greyed out and impossible to select. It's not a complicated request. Can someone PLEASE give me an update on this?

Hi Adam! Any update on this? I really need the option to have the Country displayed instead of the State!!! It doesn't make ANY sense for European wedding photographers. Most of those "states" in European countries are not really states like you know it in the US. They are just regions and absolutely nobody uses those words when describing where they shot. I am now doing destination weddings and want to point my prospect clients to my galleries, where they will see Paris France, Stockholm Sweden, Tromsö Norway and so on...
Please, this is a basic feature!!! Right now the Countries are greyed out and it's impossible to select them! Just un-grey them! Please!
