How can we improve Instaproofs?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Delete buttons need a warning

    Message: 'While viewing the photographer back end side of Instaproofs, on my iPhone, my thumb accidentally hit the Delete button on a clients email, when attempting to view their Favorites.
    Poof! Email, dates visited & Favorite images selected were all gone!
    Thank goodness Robert was able to restore it. But please put an "Are you sure" message so it's idiot proof. :P

  2. Create discounts that are specific to products

    There are quite a few different types of discounts and discount codes that we can give to our clients already, but what I would really like to see is a discount that is specific to products. For example, if I want to run a discount on just my High Res DVDs for a weekend, there isn't currently a way to do that. Or if I want to give a discount code out that is good for 20% off my parent albums, there isn't a way to do that. Please add a way to create discounts that are specific to products.

    Thank you for your patience on this one! You can now run sales on whatever products that you would like. To create a sale on a specific product, do the following:


    • From the main menu, click Selling » Sales & Coupons.
    • Click the "Create New Sale or Coupon Code" button, expand the "Create a Sale" area, and click the "Purchase Option Sale" option.
    • Define your sale details by providing a discount amount for the product(s) that you'd like to run a sale on.


    And that should do it! Product-specific coupons (discount codes) are also in the works, and should be done sometime later this year.

  3. multiple images for products

    Hi - would love to be able to upload more than 1 image for a product - for example, for my framed photographs, id like the client to see 3-4 images - a close up, a detail shot, overhead shot, that kind of thing - allows the buyer to visualise the product better before purchasing. It was suggested that I include a link in the description - but thats 1 extra click - that may put the client off, hence not keen on that idea.

  4. Move from gallery to gallery quicker

    I'd love to see an option where, when in the "modify event" mode, we can move from gallery to gallery (or event to event, if you prefer) with more ease than having to click back to the events list each time.

  5. Global option to enable downloads in all categories at once

    In an event is there a way to globally allow downloads in all categories instead of having to click individually for each event?

  6. download category only

    Category Downloads (free) for vendors
    It would be wonderful if there was an option to download category only for free and not have to purchase it. For example: When my wedding planners want to download ONLY the details of the wedding in the "Details" category - as high res with no watermark on them.
    this would be SO helpful especially when they don't want all the family photos as well as reception pictures all in 1-5 download links. Sometimes my detail category can be quite large with 100-200 images and doing it individually is too time-consuming.

  7. Problem with New Interface - Ability to use non-alphanumeric characters

    When trying to enter a custom web address/url for a gallery the new interface does not allow me to use a "-" when creating the URL.
    INVALID INPUT. ONLY ALPHANUMERIC CHARACTERS.
    This was not a problem with the old interface. I believe the same is true when creating discount codes. It's annoying :(

  8. Importing email addresses

    If this doesn't exist already, would love a way to import contacts from the visitors list to the "people with permissions to download" list. With each wedding, I have about 20 vendors I need to add give download permissions to, as well as send an Invitation email to, and I end up having to type in their emails twice. Would be nice to have a way to only do it once.

  9. Print + Digital Negative (of print)

    I would love to have the option to make the digital negative of any print ordered available for download after the print order has been placed.

    Creating a print set allows for the selection of ANY print and ANY digital negative without having to correspond to one another.

  10. Separate Individual Download and Favorite Downloads into 2 functions.

    Message from support - "At this time the Favorites Download is attached to the Individual Download option and they can't be separated. You might add this idea to the Suggestion box, maybe our guys can figure out a way to make this into different options."

    Dexter, can you provide a scenario where this would be useful? There is no way to limit the number of favorites that your clients can select, which means that if downloading favorites is enabled independently of the individual image download permissions, your clients could still download all of the images in the gallery. They would simply mark all of the images as a favorite, and then download their favorites.

  11. My Prefecture doesnt exsist on your list

    Hi I recently moved to Okinawa Japan, and you do not have Okinawa Prefecture as an option on your drop down menu of locations for a shoot to have taken place. Thanks!

    It would be great to have a link to a list of all the abandoned carts without having to go to each individual event.

  13. Add Features for High Volume Photographers

    Your back end is so great but I would love to be able to use it more in my other business shooting sports leagues.

    The ability to have more folders so I can separate by league, then by age then by team would be great.

    Also anyway to take preorders with credit cards through the invoicing system would be great. Wouldn't even have to have fulfillment for me, just the ability to have people click a package and pay.

  14. The ability to go back to page you were just working on instead of back to main events page after edits/saves

    When an event is updated and saved, it would be great if the site didn't go back to the main events list page but back to the page you were working on. With almost 500 active galleries, it takes way too long to scroll through again to find the gallery I was working on, or the next one in sequence. Would be a serious time saver.

  15. Multi-image packages limited to folders

    I am an equestrian photographer and I sell photos of horses/riders from events. If you look at a gallery, a rider may have several "rounds" at an event which I name/label sequentially (401-1, 401-2...).

    Instaproofs multi-image basically says "any image at all anywhere in the entire Instaproofs account (across any galleries) may be purchased as part of a multi-image package".

    But for the way I want to charge my customers, I want multi-image products that are not only limited to a single gallery, but limited to a single folder. So, as an example, if someone wants to buy a "retouch…

    Could you set up a way of notifying a visitor to the page when new images are posted ? This would be very useful

  17. viewing unactivated galleries

    I'm not sure if it is just my system, but I can not view an event until it actually goes live. When I am trying to see how my catagory and main images look and proof everything before sending off to the client, unless I activate the gallery, the specific link says "your device may not be connected" then defaults to my store homepage, where the event does not show until I activate it. It would be good for admin to be able to proof and view events before taking them live.

    Thanks for your comments and suggestions! One possible workaround for you is to set the “Show on Homescreen” setting to No for the gallery until you’re ready for it to be viewed by your clients. That way you can still view it through a direct link, but it isn’t displayed as an option on your homescreen until you want it to be.

  18. Add-On for Digital File at Checkout

    I added the feature to offer the digital file of a print in someone's cart. While I love the idea, I disabled the feature because when pretending to be a client, it was very confusing having it pop up like it does while shopping. Way too many things going on. I think it would be way better to have that pop up during the checkout process at a discounted rate so that they are only viewing what they currently have in their cart, not every option available in the shop, making it much more confusing.
